According to a university news release, Taylor Schlitz was admitted to nine different law schools in 2019 before enrolling at SMU’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas.
According to the statement, she is also a public speaker, author, and supporter of “the issues students of color face in navigating gifted and talented programs in public schools.”
According to the announcement, Taylor Schlitz found it difficult to get recognition from her public school’s gifted and talented program when she was in the fifth grade.
Instead, her parents chose to educate her, and she flourished, finishing high school at the age of 13. According to her website, she graduated from Texas Woman’s University at the youngest age ever recorded, aged 16.
Taylor Schlitz will focus on education policy concerns and expand opportunities “for gifted and talented girls and students of color” after graduation on May 13, the release stated.
