Destiny Buffington reported that her family was attacked while they were sleeping, and their 6-month-old daughter, Myra, had brain injuries that need emergency surgery.

Destiny endured the most difficult night of her life on December 9, 2023, when her mother-in-law attacked her newborn, Myra. Destiny and her child were nearly killed in the tragedy, and the latter still requires weekly mobility treatment.

While being transported to UC West Chester Hospital, the infant lost a substantial amount of blood, and physicians cautioned that his chances of life were slim.

Furthermore, the surgeons performed a life-saving treatment on the infant, removing portions of her skull in an attempt to relieve pressure.

Destiny Buffington also revealed that her baby has sustained many injuries after the tragedy and may face another in 2025. Doctors attempted to insert the remaining bone and shield her brain from further injury because her cranial injuries were life-threatening.

Myra recently underwent shunt placement surgery and is now able to move about with her mother’s aid. Her injuries have hampered the baby’s motor skills and learning abilities, resulting in a delay in her physical and mental development.

Myra requires on-going medical care and a full-time caregiver, and her family has shared her story on social media multiple times. Furthermore, her grandma, Mia Harris, abused her and originally intended to harm Destiny.

During the incident, Mia fired the firearm at Destiny Buffington grandma from close range, causing slight head injury. She then moved her arm at her granddaughter, hurting her numerous times before fleeing the scene.

They also harbored seven family members at the time, and housing costs were mounting as authorities investigated the matter in the hopes of apprehending the inmate. Mia was apprehended within hours, and she disclosed her plan to destroy the infant.

Meanwhile, Myra’s GoFundMe page has been getting donations to help with her recuperation. Destiny noted that Myra needs a reliable automobile for hospital transportation, movement equipment, and an emotional support dog to help her with her seizures.

Similarly, Destiny Buffington intends to enroll her infant in music and brain-focused treatment. TaMia Carter started the project on behalf of the Destiny family, and it has raised $7,722 out of its $25,000 goal, thanks to donations from 259 members.
